Leather
Ring Belts
Thick, sturdy and
supple, these heavyweight hand crafted leather ring belts will last for
years to come of crusades and conquests. Intended
for knotting around the ring at the waist as shown above, these belts
have no holes
punched in the leather. The harness and bridle leather ring
belts are comparable in quality and type. Visually, the main
difference
between the leathers is that the harness leather ring belts are dyed
all the way through and the bridle leather ring belts are surface dyed.
The oils and waxes added to each during the tanning process mean both
are weather resistant and strong leathers well suited for belt use.
A Quick Note About
Ring Belt Lengths
Belt 30" longer than waist measurement = at or below the knee
Belt 24" longer than waist measurement = at or above the knee
Belt 18" longer than waist measurement = at or around mid-thigh
Belt 12" longer than waist measurement = at or around the hips
For example:
a 62" belt should fall roughly mid-thigh on a 44" waist - a
comfortable, practical length that will be comfortable while you
walk.
Buying the longer belt would be safer, though, because the end may be
trimmed to any desired length with a pair of scissors. We are
also happy to shorten the belt to your requirements after purchase.

leather ring belts were hand crafted from 9 oz harness leather, with
three black rivets on the shield shaped flap at the nickel ring
and a nicely incised line around the edge for detailing. This
leather was tanned with just enough waxes and tallows to produce a
weather resistant finish that will hold up to years of use in SCA,
Renaissance or re-enactment. The black dyes go all the way
through this leather.

Pouches and Bags by K.P. McCord
Created
here in Virginia by artisan K.P.
McCord, these historically inspired leather bags and pouches
are hand cut and stitched. Each one unique, they are
lovingly crafted with attention to every detail - from leather
selection, pattern drafting, and combination of different textures and
shapes, to clever closures and design features that make each one a
wearable work of art.
This D
shaped leather belt pouch measures almost 7.5 inches wide by 5.5
inches, and will accomodate up to a 2 inch belt. The soft
dark brown inside has a drawstring, and there are black ties that loop over the antiqued brass
tone metal button on the outer flap. A bit more roomy than the pouch to
the right, this pouch will expand to nearly 2 inches thick.
